Japanese silk cotton fabric with a refined hand and a subtle, natural lustre. Blending 20% silk with 80% cotton, this fabric combines the softness and gentle sheen of silk with the breathability and easy care of cotton, making it a joy to cut, sew and wear.
At 120gsm, it sits in the sweet spot of lightweight dress fabric. It has enough body to hold a crisp, tailored line, yet enough fluidity to drape beautifully through gathers, tucks and soft pleats. It is cool against the skin and comfortable through warm Australian days, which makes it ideal for summer dressmaking.
Japanese mills are renowned for exceptional quality and finishing, and this silk cotton shows it in the smooth, even surface and luxurious feel.
